You hear so much bad press about the poor attitude and lack of common sense in young adults these days
that when the team here heard that Clean Shield MD, Kathy Price, had agreed to have two year 10 students from “Severn Vale Academy”, our local school here in Quedgeley, on a week’s work experience, it was met with some trepidation.
Well, from the moment the young men entered the office on the Monday morning, all our fears were allayed.
Liam and Jack arrived on time, smartly dressed with happy friendly smiles beaming from their faces.
Their week started with a “Health and Safety” training session followed by them sitting in on our regular Monday morning team meeting, where their interaction was well received by all.
Liam and Jack’s enthusiasm continued throughout the week with their eagerness to learn about all aspects of the business never waning, what really stood out for us were the skills that these two young men brought to the table, particularly their knowledge of all things IT, plus they made a mean cup of coffee!
Clean Shield MD, Kathy Price said, “Having Liam and Jack here on work experience has been a pleasure, the attitude shown all week has been second to none and they are great ambassadors for Severn Vale Academy, both they and their parents should be very proud”.
I will not hesitate to offer other students the opportunity of work experience with Clean Shield in the future and my advice to other local businesses thinking of offering work experience is, go for it!
In fact, I have been that impressed Clean Shield will be exhibiting at this year’s careers fair at Severn Vale Academy in October”
The whole team here at Clean Shield would like to thank Liam and Jack and wish them every success with their chosen career paths in the future.
