As any Clean Shield Team Member will tell you no day is ever the same when you arrive at a client’s premises for that day’s Commercial Cleaning
duties and that was definitely the case when Clean Shield Mobile Supervisor, Shauna, arrived at Ashton Down Airfield, home of the Cotswold Gliding Club for her regular Commercial Cleaning visit, totally unaware that this day was going to turn into a day she would never forget.
Since taking over the running of the Commercial Cleaning Contract at Cotswold Gliding Club, Shauna had regularly looked to the skies and had become fascinated watching the Gliders soar above her head and often dreamt of flying amongst the clouds herself.
Well, Shauna unknowingly was just about to turn her dream into a reality, because that day Tony, the recently retired husband of Clean Shield MD Kathy Price, was also at Ashton Down about to take to the skies in his Glider.
After talking with Shauna about her wish to go Gliding, Tony who is a fully qualified Glider Pilot said “Well there is no time like the present” and within the hour both Tony and Shauna were indeed soaring in the skies over Stroud and Cirencester with fantastic views of the Cotswolds for miles around.
Back at Clean Shield HQ Shauna said “That was the most amazing experience and I hope to go Gliding again very soon, the views were fantastic and it really did feel like you were flying, I would like to thank Tony for taking me up with him and I would recommend to everyone to give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.”
Clean Shield MD Kathy Price said “I always advise my team to expect the unexpected when working on site but Gliding would never had been in my mind at the time. When Shauna called the office to ask if it was okay to go up with Tony, I could tell by her voice how excited she was and as Shauna is a Team Player always willing to go the extra mile for Clean Shield, I had no hesitation in helping her cross off one of her Bucket List.”
