Well last week winter finally arrived in Gloucestershire with a couple of days of hard frost and fog with temperatures
barely rising above minus -5 degrees plus a cold wind chill making it seem a lot colder than it really was.
Thankfully compared to a lot of the Northern areas of the country where snow and ice are really making its presence known, we in Gloucestershire have got off relatively scot free, even so that couple of days of sub zero temperatures was enough to cause some schools and businesses to suffer with burst pipes and other unexpected weather related damage.
This has led to Clean-Shield receiving a number of calls desperately asking for help with the clean-up operations, ever ready to rise to a challenge our Commercial Cleaning Teams have been working flat out across Gloucestershire since last Thursday with their Specialist Floor Scrubbing and Texatherm Carpet Cleaning machines hardly stopping long enough to cool down.
Looking at the 10 day weather forecast it looks like winter for Gloucestershire at least will be returning to rain and temperatures of around 10-15 degrees but as that only takes us into early February there is still plenty of time for winter to return and remind us all of the power of Jack Frost!
Clean-Shield MD, Kathy Price said – “The last 5 days or so have been very busy for Clean-Shield and I would personally like to thank all of the Clean Shield Team for stepping up to the plate and covering not only the normal everyday Commercial Cleaning duties but working extended hours to help those companies affected by the cold snap back to normality as quickly and stress free as possible.”
